His journey to future success was given some impetus by his girlfriend at the time, Laura Bush, who became his wife in 1968. on August 30, 1968. In his spare time he enjoys shooting pool and listening to music. He served as assistant counsel to Governor Rockefeller from 1971 to 1974 and was called to the New York State bar in 1972. Many, however, questioned the appointment since Parsons had no real experience in the banking industry. To this union three children were born (Gregory, Leslie, and Rebecca).
